Classic Kaiserschmarrn

For today’s post I’m making a very classic austrian dish! Its a quick and really good dessert, you can usually make it with ingredients that you already have at home 😉 

Ingredients: 
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites
1/4l milk
125g flour
40g sugar
a pinch of salt
stewed plums or jam or other jam

These are basically kind of like very thick pancakes cut into pieces. 😉 

Mix egg yolks and sugar together, add flour, salt and milk slowly and continue mixing. Then beat egg whites until stiff. Then fold in the beaten egg whites to the batter. Now heat up some butter in a frying pan and put the batter in, roast until brown on one side, turn it around and wait until its brown on the other side then cut into smaller pieces and roast for a couple more seconds. 

Serve with the stewed plums and some powdered sugar. If you like you can add some raisins in the batter as well.
